There are several sites which collect job announcements and allow job seekers to explore the possibilities. These include:

Federal (U.S. jobs)

  • Calltoserve - Sponsored by the Partnership for Public Service, in partnership with the Office of Personnel Management, this is a place to begin to find out more about federal service, be it jobs or internships.
  • USAJobs.gov - A search mechanism for federal jobs in any state.
  • USAGov - A link to federal agencies, as well as state and local governments.

Non-Profit, Academic and Other Policy Jobs

  • Chronicle of Higher Education - Jobs in higher education (administration and faculty).
  • State PIRGs - State public interest research groups speak for the public interest. Jobs include analysts, fund raisers, research integrators, internships and more.
  • Town Hall - An information exchange network for conservative public policy organizations, congressional staff, and political activists that also offers information on employment, internships and fellowships.
  • Public Policy Institute of California - Fellowships and other positions doing policy research in California.
  • The Hill - Washington D.C. job.
  • Roll Call - The newspaper of Capitol Hill is a good source for jobs primarily in the Washington, D.C., area. One-time, free registration required.
  • The Charity Channel - Sponsored by the American Philanthropy Review, it allows searches for nonprofit/voluntary sector jobs worldwide.
  • The Idealist - A project of Action without Borders allowing searches of more than 29,000 nonprofit and community organizations in 153 counties, volunteer opportunities at home and abroad, and a career center.

International Opportunities

  • DevNetJobs - A voluntary initiative by volunteers in developing and developed countries that posts international jobs.
  • Human Rights Job Board - Posts job announcements for employment with human rights organizations around the world.
