Outreach and Service

The policy Ph.D. creates a new platform for service to the state and region. This is exemplified by the our capstone course. The faculty and doctoral students in the Ph.D. program participate in a workshop style course in which participants consult on planning and community issues in Arkansas communities. Students have worked in a variety of communities in this service learning class.

Our outreach programs are an important asset for public service as well as an vital component of the Ph.D. student's education.  Workshops and projects are an important part of our educational program, as will be our policy symposia, conferences and grants. Our cooperation in the establishment of the Arkansas Poll, the Clinton School, the Survey Research Center and other new outreach mediums are examples of our commitment to improving public policy and public policy knowledge.
